My Calling to Know God...8:54 AM
Do want to know God? Do you want a relationship with God?
Romans 10:9-10 //
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
First, we need to understand that God is real. God is alive. God is that thing missing in your soul. That hole in your heart is His missing presence.
Jesus is the son of God. Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. He died so that you [we] can have eternal life.
You need to also understand that God loves you more than you can ever imagine. More than humanly possible. He loves you with a redeeming love. He never stopped loving you. He aches for you and wants you to come rest in His arms.
He loves you so much that He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to the world. He died on a cross. He died for your sins. He died to save you. He died to give you eternal life & be forgiven.
John 3:16 // “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
He died for your [our] sins because we are all sinners. We were born into sin. We deserve eternal life in hell.
But God... loved you so much, that He sent His ONLY son. His ONLY CHILD to DIE a horrible death for your sins.
Second, there is nothing we can do to pay Him back. We can NEVER be good enough. We can never have good enough morals... we can never be perfect. We can never create the perfect religion or way of life to be "good enough" to get into heaven. Our absolute best "good works" are like filthy rags. We can NEVER do enough to get out of debt. We can never repay Him. For by His GRACE YOU [we] CAN ONLY BE SAVED.
Ephesians 2:8-9 // For by GRACE you have been saved through FAITH. And this is NOT of your own doing; it is the GIFT of God, NOT a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ask for His forgiveness. Ask for Him to take over your life. You can never be perfect enough. You can never be clean enough. Why? Because you're human, and you are not the creator of your own salvation. You are not the final judge.
Acts 2:38 // Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Don't bet your life on a way of living you created. Don't risk your life for a trendy way of thinking.
He's waiting for you. He's wanting to see you.
If you want to start a relationship with Christ, it starts with humbling your heart. It starts by giving your life to Him. It starts by crying out to God. It starts with a relationship.
If you're ready to finally find peace in your life, healing, forgiveness and an everlasting love, pray this prayer with me:
"God we thank you for WHO YOU ARE. We thank you for sending your son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. I choose to follow you with my WHOLE life. I want to give my WHOLE life to you. I want to know you. I need you, Father. Jesus, I BELIEVE YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD. I BELIEVE IN YOU. I surrender to you. God, please forgive me of my sins. Make me new. Create in me a NEW heart. Jesus, I love you. Jesus, I need you. I need your grace. I need your mercy. Forgive me of my sins, I know I am a sinner in need of a savior. Thank you for SAVING ME! Thank you for FORGIVING ME! Thank you for CHANGING ME!"
If you're waiting to get "clean enough" to come to Christ, give up now. That's not how this works. Just like you put dirty dishes in the dishwasher, you come to Christ as you are. You wouldn't wash all of your dishes to put them in the dishwasher would you? God wants you to come as you are. He wants to give you new life. He wants to give you a second chance.
Believing in Christ is just the beginning. You must have FAITH. You must live out His word. He calls us to be imitators of Christ. There is only ONE God, and His name is Jesus. There is only ONE way to heaven, and it's through Jesus. There is only one Creator. He is the beginning and the end. He is the Lord of Lords.
